He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Vangsness and Josephine Vangsness. He is survived by: his siblings, JoAnn Erickson (Dale) and Senster Vangsness (Jan); his wife Elaine (Wright); his children, Eric (Sara) and Amy Duchsherer (Christopher); and his grandchildren, Lauren (Eric), Claire (Eric) and Dominic (Amy).
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Maurice's Catholic Church (5313 165th Ave SE, Kindred, ND 58051). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In his later years, Curt lived with Parkinson's disease and spent his final 18 months in a long-term care facility.
