He was predeceased by: his father Charles "Bernice" Carlson (Charles); his daughters, Rachel Marie and Ann Margaret (Steven Streeter); his former wife Margaret; his sister Judith Ann; and his stepsister Connie Hai Almquist.
He is survived by: his mother Lenora Carlson (Pearson); his wife Sandy Benson; his grandchildren, Blue Fischer and Rachel Fischer; his stepgrandson Samuel Streeter; his stepsons, Todd (Jenny), Eric (Holly) and Brett Benson (Colleen); his stepgrandchildren, Olivia, Sean (Lianna), Henry and Annalisa; and his stepsister Chris Lemyre (Mark).
