He was predeceased by : his parents, Melvin Stensland and Eunice Stensland (Long); his parents-in-law, Alvin and Glo Berg; his brother-in-law Richard Berg; and his nephew Adam Snyder.

He is survived by : his wife Ruth Berg; his daughter Sarah (Dawn Greig); and his siblings, Peggy Wirth of North Beach, MD, Jeff Stensland of Moorhead and Mark Stensland of Moorhead. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials may be directed to Pontoppidan Lutheran Church or Homeward Animal Shelter.
