She was predeceased by: her parents, A. B. Holm and Lillie Holm; her husband Sam; and her sister Beverly. She is survived by: her son John; her daughter-in-law Kyong Hui; her granddaughter Samantha of Bel Air, Maryland; her son David; her daughter-in-law Julie; her grandchildren, Sydney, Hailey and Lucas of Kenilworth, Illinois; and her sisters, Sharon and Sonya of Grand Forks. She is also survived by her husband, children, extended family and her many friends.

Memorials may be directed to the Des Moines Symphony, the Des Moines Art Center, Saint John's Lutheran Church or to the Hospice of Central Iowa Foundation which is now known as EveryStep.
