She was predeceased by: her parents, Silas Gulsvig and Nora Jeanette Gulsvig (Trygstad); and her sister Verdell Gulbranson. She is survived by: her husband Virgil R. Hoistad Sr.; her children, Dorreen Olstad (Alan), Virgil Jr. Hoistad (Cynthia), Denise Huckell (Bill), Karen Medhaug (Jason), Kristine Harris (Mike), Janelle Hansen (Curt) and Joel Hoistad (Sandy); her grandchildren, Curtis Olstad (Michele), Patrick Olstad (Mandy), Jeffrey Hoistad (Callen), Sarah Mongeon (Steven), Holly Taylor (Austin), Jared Huckell (Natasha), Ryan Medhaug, Mason Harris (Darrien), Keelan Harris, Derek Hansen (Nicole), Adam Hansen, Braxten Hoistad and ArieOnna Hoistad; and her sisters, Verona Martin and Lorretta Enderson. She is also survived by five sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sanford Hospice Fargo, ND or the Nordland Lutheran Church, Rutland, ND.
