He was predeceased by: his parents, Franas Safranauskas and Anele Safranauskas; his siblings, Lydia Thomas (Herbert), Evalt Safranauskas, Wanda Andrusiak (John), Gustaf Safranauskas (Korona), Alma Gerber (Robert) and Erika Thompson; his foster parents, Fred Fiechtner and Selma Fiechtner; his brothers, Gerald Fiechtner and Robert Fiechtner (Sandy); his niece Sherry Eungard (Tom); and his brother-in-law Derek Forsell.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his sons, Michael (LeAnn) and Mark (Lisa); his grandchildren, Dustin Herrmann (Leah), Tara Herrmann, Amanda Johnson (Eric) and Paige Herrmann (Aaron); his great grandchildren, Ellie, James Herrmann, Violet and Everett Johnson; his siblings, JoAnn Forsell, Carol Freeman (Richard) and Albert Alderman; his siblings-in-law, Marty Thompson (Anita) and Joan Fiechtner; his sister Eunice Menezes (Euo); and his great grandchild Liv Herrmann. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
If so desired, memorials can be sent to Juvenile Myositis (Cure JM Foundation) in honor of his great granddaughter, Liv Herrmann, who bravely lives with Juvenile Dermatomyositis. Memorials may also be given to Atonement Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.
