He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Walter Howard Karlins, Donald Elton Burns and LuVay Pearl Karlins (Nesheim); his uncle David Burns; and his cousin Robert Grimsrud.
He is survived by: his parents, Nathaniel Louis and Linda Mae Karlins (Burns) of Fargo, ND; his siblings, Walter (Kayley) of Fargo, ND and Elizabeth Race (William) of Virginia Beach, VA; his nibling Lachlan; his sister Rebecca Cecil (Joseph) of Huntsville, AL; his nieces and nephews, Kym and Olivia; his siblings, Joseph of Minneapolis, MN, Hannah of Virginia Beach, VA, Ruth (Charlie) of Madison, WI, Ella and Abigail of Fargo, ND; and his grandmother Louise Burns (Erdmann) of Chamberlain, SD. He is also survived by five uncles and five aunts; and more than 40 cousins.
