With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Leroy Newton (Fargo, North Dakota), who passed away on June 7, 2020 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Newton (Bill) and Ruth Hughes Newton; his siblings, Dean Newton and Sandra Underwood; and his nephew Jeff Newton.

He is survived by: his friend Fargo; his nieces and nephews, Todd Newton (Mary), Blair Newton (Vickie), John Underwood, Denise Ishaug (Steve), Moorhead and Deb Berg (Cory); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Alyssa Newton, Hannah Berg, Cassie Ishaug, Abbie Ishaug, Joseph Newton and Hunter Berg; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Jean Newton of Superior, WI and Bill Underwood.

“Hello. My name is Paula (Fosse) Greelis originally from Sharon, ND, but now call Thief River Falls, MN home. Gary was my mother's first cousin, making me his second cousin. Gary's mom and my mom's mother (Mabel Hughes Grieve) were sisters. Gary and I kept in touch the last few years through Christmas cards and an occasional phone call. Gary would mention that his health was declining. I was saddened to learn of his death. My sincere sympathies to his loved ones.”
