He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Clarence, Irma Prochnow (Ziegelman), Robert and Florence Kollet (Gerber); and his uncle Robert Kollet.
He is survived by: his parents, Alfred August Prochnow of Beltsville and Susan Katherine Prochnow (Kollet) of Clarksburg, Maryland; his brother Gregory Charles Prochnow; his sister-in-law Diana; his sister Karen Michelle Newman (Prochnow); his brother-in-law Ronald; and his nieces, Caitlin, Morgan, Chloe and Claire.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (205 2nd Ave NE, Hankinson, ND 58041).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Doors Center in appreciation of the compassionate care, dignity, and opportunities provided to Gary throughout his 32 years there. Donations may be made through the Open Doors Center donation page.
