He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Johnson and Jean Johnson (Knutson). He is survived by: his siblings, Larry Johnson, Lois Kemmet (Greg) and Gloria Wilder (Gary); and his nieces, Jaime Johnson (Ted Rud), Jennifer Johnson (Brandon), Alexandra Bahr (Cody), Elizabeth Wilder and Samantha Flaherty (Connor).
He grew up and was educated in Fargo where he lived with his parents until their passing when he moved into a group home operated by Red River Human Services Foundation (RRHSF) in Wahpeton for his next 27 years.
