It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harold Lee Payne in Fargo, North Dakota, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Aleta Jackson (Walter) and Marion Vortice; and his brother Gerald Vortice. He is survived by : his wife Darnelle Trotter of Fargo, ND; and his children, Leon Burnette of Minneapolis, MN, Barry Bradley (Meg) of Moorhead, MN, Terrell Trotter (Carlena) of Des Moines, IA, Mia Kimble, Melissa Vortice of Indianapolis, IN, Taurus Chambers and Kapree Trotter of Fargo, ND. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
