The memory of Herbert B. Schlegel of Fargo, North Dakota, who passed away on July 21, 2025 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schlegel and Mary Schlegel; and his granddaughter Alyssa. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Jean Puhr; his children, Gayle Anderson (Bruce) of Fargo, ND, Jill Johnson (Don) of Independence, MN, Rhonda Fetch (Joe) of Rapid City, SD and Scott Schlegel (Patricia) of St. Louis, MO.; his grandchildren, Sarah, Sophia, Logan, Nolan, Mason, Will, Joshua and Christopher; his great grandchildren, Andie Jo, Marley, Paul, Leon and Vada; and his siblings, Betty, Eleanor and Norbert.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Boulger Funeral Home (123 10th St S, Fargo, ND 58103). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Nativity Catholic Church (1825 11th St S, Fargo, ND 58103). A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fargo National Cemetery (8709 40th Ave NW, Harwood, ND 58042).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to HIA Hospice and/or Bethany on 42nd in honor of Herb's lifelong legacy of service and kindness.
