He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schlegel and Mary Schlegel; and his granddaughter Alyssa. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Jean Puhr; his children, Gayle Anderson (Bruce) of Fargo, ND, Jill Johnson (Don) of Independence, MN, Rhonda Fetch (Joe) of Rapid City, SD and Scott Schlegel (Patricia) of St. Louis, MO.; his grandchildren, Sarah, Sophia, Logan, Nolan, Mason, Will, Joshua and Christopher; his great grandchildren, Andie Jo, Marley, Paul, Leon and Vada; and his siblings, Betty, Eleanor and Norbert.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to HIA Hospice and/or Bethany on 42nd in honor of Herb's lifelong legacy of service and kindness.
