He is survived by: his friend Halloween; his wife Lynann; his children, Elizabeth Cox, Mark Rustad (Debra) and Mathew Rustad; his grandchildren, Megan, Emma, Sam Cox, Hailey Palluck, Jeremy Feist (Paige), Taylor Helmeke (Griffin), Ryan Rustad and Sydney Rustad; his great grandchildren, Mila, Cotter Helmeke and Baker Feist; his sisters, Donna Phillips (Craig) and Doris Haraldson (Richard); his foster brother Patrick Anderson; and his siblings-in-law, Lavonne Rustad, Mary Rustad, Aldene Miller and Darrel "Duffy" Carlson (Deb). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A vigil service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Boulger Funeral Home (123 10th St S, Fargo, ND 58103). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (710 10th St S, Fargo, ND 58103).
