He was predeceased by: his parents, L. F. "Andy" Gompf and Hattie Gompf (Kerkow); and his brothers, Bill and Richard (Maureen). He is survived by: his children, Jean Gompf, Beth Jones (John), Marty Gompf (Pam), Brian Gompf and Tracy Gompf (Shelly); his grandchildren, Caitin Todd (Jesse), Colin Schifferman, Hilary Chapman (Brian), Fallon Jones, Toby Jones, Jennifer Gompf, Nicole McCabe, Alexis Neal (Brian), Hattie Gompf, Josephine Gompf, Sadie Gompf and Siri Gompf; and his great grandchildren, Wyatt Todd, Westin Todd, Tully Chapman, Olivia Gompf, Harper Neal, Seanna McCabe and Chloe McCabe.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Boulger Funeral Home (123 10th St S, Fargo, ND 58103). A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
