He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward "Vince" O'Meara and Marilyn O'Meara; his siblings, Edward, Brian, John O'Meara and Cathe Finkelson; and his mother-in-law Karen Gilbertson.
He is survived by: his wife Wendy O'Meara; his children, Alyssa Johnson (Kyle), Emily Mehring (Cole) and Matthew (Sara); his grandchildren, Tate, Tyler Johnson, Griffin and Vera Mehring; his sisters, Mary Carda (Darvin) and Trish Eide (Curt); his siblings-in-law, Elroy Finkelson, Donna O'Meara, Deb Perhus (Kelly), Kim Fitch (Darren) and Tami Gilbertson; and his father-in-law Donald Gilbertson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Essentia Cancer Center or HIA Hospice of Fargo where Jim received excellent care.
