He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Hochhalter (Beulah) and Beulah Hochhalter; his wife Sharon Freed; his siblings, Janice Skrove, Adeline Hochhalter, Susan Coulter and Ron Hochhalter; and his granddaughter Sabrina Steichen.
He is survived by: his children, Robyn Sorum (Bruce) of McHenry, ND, Shannon Kist (Paul) of Horace, ND, Loren Hochhalter of Phoenix, AZ and Melissa Rhode (Tim) of Fargo, ND; his granddaughter Christina Mischke (Chris); his children, Jacob Sorum (Kelsey), Samantha Steichen, Jeffrey Steichen, Jerad Steichen (Casey), Sasha Steichen, Dustin Hochhalter (Colleen), Ashley Hochhalter, Logan Rhode (Lizzie) and Mackenzie Rhode; and his siblings, Tim Hochhalter (Cheryl), Angie Koschney (Jerry), Barb Blumer and Candy Schmickle (Ron). He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
