She was predeceased by: her parents, Anjel José Erdoiza and Maxine Wilma Henning Erdoiza. She is survived by: her siblings, Terri, Aren (Al), Stephanie and Garen (Linda); her nieces and nephews, Lee (Starr), Anthony, Aria, Angela (Adam) and Felicia (Carl); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Hope, Bella, Natalia, Sarah, Kristina Leigha, Cole, Anson, Zach, Isaac and Keandre.
After helping to launch the popular Chuckanut Writers Conference, in 2013 Laurel received a Mayor's Award for the Arts for her contributions to Bellingham's creative community.
