It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marie Rourke (Fargo, North Dakota), who passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Justin Smedshammer and Myrtle Smedshammer (Linn); her daughter Dawn Marie Rourke; her siblings, Erma Peterson (Smedshammer), Inez Clegg (Smedshammer), Ray Smedshammer, Avice Bjerke (Smedshammer), Loretta Opdahl (Smedshammer), Jerry Smedshammer and Dwight Smedshammer; and her son-in-law Joseph Mueller.
She is survived by: her daughters, Vicki Patricia Rourke (Mueller) of Ladson, S. C. and Michelle Eleanor Rourke of Verona, N. D.; her siblings, Betty Gackle (Smedshammer), Tootie (Smedshammer), Larry Fueler, Norris, Connie Smedshammer, Ivan and Phyllis Smedshammer; her children, Bud and Kyla Rourke of Perham, M. N.; her grandchildren, Angie Kain (Shannon), W. I., Lisa Hoy (Matt), Dustin Mueller (Erica), Amy Kath (Dustin), Melissa Noreika (Wayne) of Seabrook, T. X., Paige Rourke of Fargo, N. D. and Kallie Rourke of Perham, M. N.; her great grandchildren, Travis Kain, Cheyanne Kain, Juliette Hoy, Mason Hoy, Amelie Mueller, Olivier Mueller, Khloe Kath and Holland Kath; and her great great grandchildren, Loavally Kain and Braylen Kain. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (104 6th St, Verona, ND 58490).
