It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melissa Schauer Whetzel (Fargo, North Dakota), born in Marshall, Minnesota, who passed away on February 18, 2020, at the age of 38, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Bert, Ada Schauer and Leonard Siedschlag. She is survived by: her parents, Thomas Schauer and Sandra Schauer (Siedschlag); her husband Michael Whetzel; her children, Landyn and Ryland Schauer; her stepchildren, Dana and Dakota Whetzel; her grandmother Ione Siedschlag of West Fargo, ND; her brothers, Jon Schauer of West Fargo, ND and Jeremy Schauer (Jessica); and her nieces and nephews, Hailee, Dylan, Logan and Addison.

“I knew Melissa from way back in elementary and junior high. Also worked with her at Pioneer House , when she was pregnant with Landyn. We had kept in touch for a short while after that, and I would run into her around town. I don’t even know what to say. I’m so very sorry and May your memories of her get you guys through. I know from personal experience- it won’t go away but it does get “easier”.”
