He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Lang and Charlotte Lang; and his brother-in-law Peter Richman. He is survived by: his wife Paulette Bakke; his children, Kim Kankelfritz (Todd) of Fargo, ND, Bryan Lang and Andrew Lang; his grandchildren, Sarah and Andrew Kankelfritz; and his siblings, Kenneth Lang (DeAnna) of Tower City, ND, Janet Halland (Marlyn) of Tower City, ND, Karen Richman, Diane Kohler (Richard), Frances Hagen (Gerald) and Barbara Lyon (Patrick). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to JP II Schools.
