He was predeceased by: his parents, William Shirley and Nellie Shirley (Urschel); his wife Betty Jane Morris; his siblings, Sylvia Bakken (Leonard), Vivian Bernardy (Herb) and William O. Shirley; and his brothers-in-law, Warren Tarbell and Ed Gross.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Holly; his children, Troy Shirley (Nancy) of Bismarck and Holly Roehrich (Doug) of Bismarck; his grandchildren, Jordan Roehrich, Jonathan Roehrich (Sydney), Brynn Shirley, Dawson Shirley and Kallyn Shirley; and his great grandchild Rory Roehrich.
