He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Lake and Janet Slavik; and his stepfather Robert Slavik. He is survived by: his significant other Brenda Mehus of Fargo, ND; his stepdaughters, Nicole Mehus-Jensen (Troy) of Detroit, Stephanie Nelson (Adam) of Fargo, ND and Elizabeth Mehus-Waller (Troy Thomson) of Fargo, ND; his brother Steve Lake (Cindy) of Peoria, AZ; his sibling's children, Tyler Lake (Ashley) of Raleigh, NC and Alyssa Lake of Pensacola, FL; and his grandchildren, Lily, Brynn of Ella, CJ, Kasa, Carson, Deja, Trey and Calvyn.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home (215 7th St S, Fargo, ND 58103). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the same location.
