He was predeceased by: his parents, Arland Olson and Elsie Olson (Carter); his brother Scott Olson; and his nephew Jacob Olson. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Lang; his children, Ashley Martodam (Adam) and Lee Olson; his sisters, Debbie Garland (Rod), Heidi Krauter (Alan) and Holly Rosenkranz (Dale); his sister-in-law Becky Olson; and his grandchildren, Kendal, Preston, Kaitlyn, Jaylon, Sawyer and Levyn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
