She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Messmer and Leontina Messmer; her son Bradley Goetz (Wanda); her brother James; her sons, Bradly Goetz and Joe Iglehart; and her granddaughter Anita Jo Ackerman.

She is survived by: her former husband Ronald Goetz; her children, Michael Goetz (Pam) and Lisa Nelson (Brian); her husband Jim; her stepchildren, JoAnn Iglehart, Tom Iglehart, Sue Steckler (Chip), Vince Iglehart, Mike Iglehart (Connie), Dan Iglehart, Jean Graeber (Scott) and Steve Iglehart (Kacie); her daughters-in-law, Wanda Goetz and Debbie Iglehart; and her siblings-in-law, Marsha Messmer, Allen Goetz (Marilyn), Janice Goetz, Marlene Iglehart and Kai Hunt. She is also survived by grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Betty thoroughly enjoyed being a longtime volunteer for the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation.
