He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Mai and Emma Mai; his wife Elna Wiedenmeyer; his son Dean; and his brothers, Jim and Myron.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Mai (Tammy) and Sis McKinney (Mike); his grandchildren, Angela Keys (Derrick), Eric Enderle (Caixia), Madison McKinney, Tiffany Mai and Amy Greff (Nate); and his siblings, Gerald Mai (LaRue) and Carol Welke (Rodney). He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Eastgate Funeral & Cremation Service (2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck, ND 58501). A prayer was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Valley Lutheran Church (801 E Denver Ave, Bismarck, ND 58504).
