It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Schlichting of Garrison, North Dakota, who passed away on April 14, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. As George departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though George may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy George leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schlichting and Edith Schlichting; his siblings, Laverne Miller (Adam), Norbert Schlichting (Ardella) and John Schlichting; and his brothers-in-law, Floyd Evenson (Lorraine) and Donald Evenson (Gladys).
He is survived by: his wife Bernice; his sons, Dean (Donna) of Garrison and Glenn (Ann) of Garrison; his grandchildren, Jill Mautz (Riley) of Garrison, Steely of Garrison and Preston Schneider of Minot; and his brother Richard Schlichting (Betty) of Garrison. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
