He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Birkholz (Sorensen); his parent Rosella Birkholz (Hach); and his siblings, Edwin Birkholz (Adeline), David Birkholz (Shirley) and Lorraine Lucas (Roy).
He is survived by: his daughters, Kimberly Lies (Daryl) of Douglas, ND and Hollie Birkholz (Chris Perejda) of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Samantha Rebel (Skylar) of Douglas, ND, Amber Lies (Reed Rose) of Craig, CO, Warner and Conrad Perejda of Denver, CO; and his great grandchildren, Stella Ann, Sharlotte Rose, Saige Marie Rebel and Evelyn Patricia Galloway. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, numerous nephews and nieces.
