He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Ellison and Esther Ellison (Hintz); his wife Virgina; his sister Bonnie; his brother-in-law Joe Buckley; his nephew Verne Ellison; and his son-in-law Lyle Gjovig.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Gjovig, Keith Ellison, Pamela Kolden (Jeremy), Jennifer Grote (Galen) and Thomas Ellison (Jensi); his siblings, Kelvin Ellison (Diane), Barb Vasicek (Richard) and Julie Anderson (David); his grandchildren, Dylan Eckert (Amber), Harley McDonald (Adam), Logan, Brady Eckert, Cayli Smith (Cyrus), Casyn, Clay Kolden, Emily (David), Erika Grote, Oakley, Ryker Ellison, Ariel Kirk (Kennon) and Andrew Gjovig; and his great grandchildren, Sarah, Lucas, Natalie, Riley Eckert, Micah, Esther McDonald, Lakken and Gemma Kirk.
