He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schlender and Emma Schlender (Renner); and his brothers, Norman and Ralph Schlender. He is survived by: his wife Fern Boeckel; his children, Sherry Walker (Perry) of Zap, Scott Schlender (Melissa) of Golden Valley and Jonathan Schlender (Michelle) of Zap; his sister Ardella Berg of Black Hawk, SD; and his sister-in-law Evangeline Schlender of Halliday. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
