He was predeceased by: his parents, James Kratochvil and Caroline Kratochvil (Bina); his daughter Karen Ward; and his brother Harold Kratochvil (Carol). He is survived by: his wife Elaine Kratochvil of Michael's Catholic Church; his children, Keith Kratochvil (KrisAnn), David Kratochvil (Amy), Karla Scott (Myron), Diane Smith (Daniel), Dawn Holweger and Kristi Ross (Joel); and his sister-in-law Mary Ann Baird. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 6 bonus great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Amundson Funeral Home Chapel (2975 S 42nd St, Grand Forks, ND 58201). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (1018 18th Ave S, Grand Forks, ND 58201).
