We are sad to announce that on October 23, 2023, at the age of 80, Darrel D. Swenson of Grand Forks, North Dakota, born in Hettinger, North Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Swen Swenson and Edna Swenson (Roehl); his wife Erlis (Paulson Chase); his brother Boyd Swenson; his great-nephew Maison Berry; his sister-in-law Diane Swenson; and his mother-in-law Eleanor Paulson.
He is survived by: his children, Denise Fried (Ralph) of Mandan, ND, Leanne Stiefel (Jeff) of Hazen, ND and Don Chase (Jane) of West Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Stacey Olander (Bob), Dustin Faris (Elena), Brittany Erhardt (Dusty), Amber Gabert (Bret), Alexis Stiefel, Colton Stiefel (Brooke Ackerman), Gabrielle Chase, Austin Chase (Maggie), Brandon Chase (Daejha Moss), Kasey Chase and Jadon Chase; his great grandchildren, Kylie, Mason Olander, Cooper, Carter, Parker Erhardt, Avari, Brevin Gabert, Brianna, William and Brooklyn Lorenz; and his siblings, Vince Swenson, Steve Swenson (Cheryl), Leanne Fried (Marlin), Lynette Kvanvig, Melody Monson (Ron) and Donzetta Strandjord (Eric). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and special friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND, or charity of your choice in Darrel's name.
