He was predeceased by: his parents, Marble Borgen and Mable Borgen (Nulph); his son Brent; and his siblings, Alice Heley, Norma Langemo, Doris Rupe, Patricia Kolwalski, Judy Johnson, Donald and Robert Borgen.

He is survived by: his spouse Jodie Larson; his daughter Terri Borgen (Jason Halland) of Crookston, MN; his granddaughter Huntley Halland; his sisters, Shirley Svenby of Fargo, ND and Sally Walker (John) of Manhatten, KS; his close friend Jodie Borgen-Hermstad (Dave Hermstad) of Devils Lake, ND; and his brother-in-law Paul Langemo of Valley City, ND. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
