It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derek M. Andersen of Grand Forks, North Dakota, born in Virginia, Minnesota, who passed away on March 26, 2022, at the age of 45, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Andersen and Debbie Andersen (Smolich); his grandparents, Trygve, Dorothy Andersen and Joseph Smolich; his stepgrandfather Norman Rissanen; his aunts, Sherry Rissanen, Karen Jones and Linda Goodman; and his uncle John Andersen.
He is survived by: his son Brady Andersen of Little Falls; his sister Melissa Kuskie (Matthew) of St. Paul; his nephew Michael of St. Paul; and his grandmother Phyllis of Eden Prairie. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
