He was predeceased by: his parents, Granville Benjamin, Sr. and Golden Canzady Garner (Adams); his pet Chihuahuas; his wife Pamela Rae Garner (Bauer); the mother of his children Debra Lee Pearson (White); and his siblings, Jimmie Rodgers Garner and Carole Sue Hurst (Garner).
He is survived by: his sons, Wayne Garner (Maren) of Rockingham, NC, Granville Garner III (Jonelle Hamblin) of Grand Forks and Matthew Garner of St. Louis; his stepson Jesse Ray Holubeck of St. Louis, Missouri; his siblings, Phillip Garner (Kathy), Sarah Lane, Sherry Taylor (Jimmy) and Rita Castleberry (Joe); his grandchildren, Blake, Josie, Issiah, Isabelle, Chloe, Rachel and Troy; and his great grandchild Azariyah. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
