It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hazel Lorraine Juntunen of Grand Forks, North Dakota, who passed away on July 22, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alrik Johnson and Mina Johnson (Minnie); her husband Alfred Juntunen; her daughters, Susan and Barbara; and her siblings, Elvera, Everett and Anita.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy (Kara Wettersten) of Grand Forks and Dan (Denae) of Clearwater, MN; her grandchildren, MeiLi Smith, Shai Smith, Allie Juntunen (Weston Morgan) and Nick Juntunen; and her brother Ansel Johnson (Janice) of Rugby. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be donated in Hazel's name to the Sisu Endowment in the College of Education & Human Development at UND, via the UND Foundation.
