It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Iris Mae Root of Grand Forks, North Dakota, who passed away on August 30, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Evelyn Swangler and Corcoran; her former husband Gary Waltman; her daughters, Linda Starr Bonasera of Santa Cruz, Sandra Waltman of Ferndale, Susan Kile (Kurt) of Livermore and Lori Saure (Greg) of Reynolds, ND; her grandchildren, Che', Amber, Aaron, Lewis, Naomi, Rozalin, Kristina, Gregg and Wendy; her siblings, Dorothy Lund, Marilyn Larson, Ann Janusz (John), Rosemary Kennedy (Marv), Frank Swangler (Pat), Edward Swangler (Carol), Jerry Swangler (Yvonne), Richie Swangler (Cheryl), George, Joseph, James and Michael; and her close friend Robin "Butch" Patterson. She was also cherished by 19 great- grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in Iris's name to a charity of your choice.
