He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Hanson and Velma Hanson (Schweibert) of Paul's Lutheran Church; and his in-laws, John and Marian Selthun. He is survived by: his wife Mary Kay; his children, John Jr. Hanson (Julie) and Miriah Kliner (Ben); his grandchildren, Alex Hanson (Sammy Hill) of Grand Forks, Alexis Hanson of Grand Forks, Jacob Kliner (Abby Peichel) of Grand Forks, Joshua Kliner of Grand Forks and Jessaca Kliner of Grand Forks; and his brother Ronald Hanson of Fayetteville, NC..
