He was predeceased by: his parents, John Buchner and Helen Buchner (Zaucha); his siblings, Robert Rakowski and Patricia Folkestad; his siblings-in-law, Lucille Rakowski, Barb Rakowski, Lawrence Kuznia and Ron Folkestad; and his son-in-law Tony Telken.
He is survived by: his wife Marge; his children, Gregory Buchner of Cottage Grove, MN, Bradley Buchner (Kara) of Grand Forks, ND and Jodi Morgan (Jason) of Grand Forks, ND; his siblings, Richard Rakowski of Greeley, CO and Barbara Kuznia of Stephen, MN; his sister-in-law Doris Rakowski of Colorado Springs, CO; and his grandchildren, Chelsee Stone (Andy) and Dr. Wyatt Telken (Bailey Nelson). He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church (524 5th Ave N, Grand Forks, ND 58203). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Calvary South Cemetery (1015 11th St NE, Thompson, ND 58278).
