It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved John Simonson of Grand Forks, North Dakota, who passed away, on December 26, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arch Fletcher and Carroll Louise Simonson; and his brother Peter T. Simonson (Elizabeth Simonson). He is survived by: his children, Suzanne Simonson, Scott Simonson (Allyson), Arch Simonson (Mary) and Steven Simonson Grand (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Dane Simonson (Katie), Morgan Simonson (Lauren), Alex Simonson (Chelsea), Johnny Simonson (Paige), Eric Simonson (Morgan), Lindy Simonson, Grant Simonson and Olivia Meyer (Ethan). He is also survived by 11 Great Grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Grand Forks.

John was the kind of guy that you wanted to have breakfast with on any given Saturday morning. He was full of thoughts, ideas, stories and experiences that were so interesting to hear about. I had the privilege to do that with Scott, Archie, Steven and John on several occasions and will always remember the wonderful experience it was.”
