She was predeceased by: her parents, LeRoy E. Nelson and Beulah Nelson (Ulvedal); and her siblings, Don Nelson (Cathy), Gary Nelson and Sandra "Jo" Dunn (Jim).

She is survived by: her sons, Tony (Krista), Andy (Kim), Joey (Amanda), Gino and Tootsie; her husband Gino; her grandchildren, Nico, Mario, Gianna, Megan, Sergio, Adriana and Vincent; and her siblings, Gayle Birkeland (Jerome), Maureen Jacobson (Ordean) and Tom Nelson (JoyAnn). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorials: the family prefers memorials be given to the Gino and Tootsie Gasparini Athletics Scholarship Endowment at UND.
