Marilyn G. Hagerty Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marilyn G. Hagerty (Grand Forks, North Dakota), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 16, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Marilyn shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Marilyn farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A prayer will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:15 PM at the Amundson Funeral Home (2975 S 42nd St, Grand Forks, ND 58201). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Calvary Lutheran Church (1405 S 9th St, Grand Forks, ND 58201). The New York Times wrote about her at length in December 2020, describing how she was doing her work during the Covid pandemic and publishing pictures of her at home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Marilyn Hagerty Scholarship Endowment at the University of North Dakota.
