He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Stenseth and Oral Stenseth (Lomen); his wife Nancy; and his brother Dave Stenseth. He is survived by: his children, Tara Riley and Jason Stenseth; his grandson Christian Stenseth-Johnson; his sister-in-law Shirley Stenseth; his nephew David Stenseth; and his nieces, Lynne Campion and Maren Stenseth. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He served on the Board of Directors of the Prairie Harvest Foundation, supporting efforts to provide stability and opportunity to those in need.
