He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stroh and Louise Stroh (Kranzler); his sister Marilyn Walters (Robert); and his siblings-in-law, Norman Glewwe and Rose Stroh.

He is survived by: his former wife Margie Ione Benson of Erskine, MN.; his father-in-law Martin; his wife Viola Meisel (Fischer) of Grand Forks; his daughters, Terry Guenther (Ken) and Shelly Gust (Scott); his grandchildren, Chris Gust, Marie Clemetson (Jeremy) and Mat Gust (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Lily, Palmer Clemetson, Jordy, Asher and Espyn Gust; his siblings, Eugene Stroh, Barbara Glewwe, Jackie Chase (Lee) and Robert Stroh (Lois); his stepdaughters, Jayne Pudil (Wayne), Judy Ell (Jim), Mari Anderson (Rory), Kathy Sampson (Dan) and Karen Bromley (Duane); his stepgrandchildren, Corrie Spicer (Caleb), Davey Stinson, Jerry Pudil (Mary), Brian Ell (Lina), Ashley Strand (Ryan), Jenny Larson (Brian), Jared Storstad (Ashley), Jake Storstad, Wyatt Sampson, Alec Sampson (Taylor), Amber Adair (Parker), Brooke and Nicole Meisel; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Levi, Isla, Milo Spicer, Aiden, Holden Pudil, Finnegan Ell, Teddy, Calvin Strand, Dylan Larson, Ellie, Emma Dahl, Koda Storstad, Wrenick Sampson, Hadley and Josie Sampson; his stepchildren, Jimmy Meisel and Peggy Meisel; and his stepgranddaughter Laura Smith.
