He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Sykes and Bertha Sykes (Boyum); his daughter Laurie Hogenson; his parents-in-law, Arthur and Ellen Storstad; and his siblings-in-law, Ken Storstad, Eugene Niemeyer and Carolyn Storstad.
He is survived by: his wife Janis Storstad of Grand Forks, ND; his children, Timothy (Andrea) of Erskine, MN, Sherri Bellefeuille (Jim) of Seattle, WA and Linda Sykes of Overland Park, KS; his grandchildren, Kristi Hogenson (John Kraehenbuehl), Erik Hogenson (Cynthia), Brett Hogenson, Latham Hogenson, Samantha Lubereski (Cameron Pizzica), Joe Bellefeuille, Anne Sykes and Matthew Sykes; and his stepgrandchildren, Taylor Gunufson, Maverick Gunufson (Jena) and Gracie Gunufson. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
