He was predeceased by: his father Harold Kuehl; his daughter Kelly Ackerman; his brother Craig; and his parents-in-law, Arnold and Jane Foertsch.

He is survived by: his mother Darlene Kuehl (Stahl) of Wahpeton; his wife Renae Foertsch; his son Travis; his children-in-law, Rachel of Baraboo, WI and Jared Ackerman of Coon Rapids, MN; his grandchildren, Isaac, Josie, Eliza and Becca Kuehl; his sister Emily; his brother-in-law Steve Piechowski of Wahpeton; and his in-laws, Wayne, Pam, Marlene, Gerhart, Daryl, Cheryl, Conrad, Robert, Sheree, David and Deirdre. He is also survived by nieces, nephews & cousins.
