He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Borstad and Lillian Borstad; his wife Sandra Osmundson; his sister Estelle; his grandson Tate; and his brothers-in-law, Ken Silha and Steve Knudson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Michelle Borstad of Havre, Montana, Kay Bornong (Jeff) of Harlowton, Montana, Kim Nitz (Scott) of Harvey and Tami Kirby (Reed) of Williston; his sisters, Julie Silha of Bowan and Carol Anderson of Spokane, Washington; and his grandchildren, Josh Vedaa (Jess), Brooke Hansen (Jarek), Alecia Dahlquist (Nick), Lynze Martin (Jacob), Taylee Bornong, Walker Koropatnicki and Tucker Bornong. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hertz Funeral Home (800 Birch Ave, Harvey, ND 58341). A prayer will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church (209 8th St E, Harvey, ND 58341). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the United Cemetery.
