It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Atkinson of Hazen, North Dakota, who passed away on January 29, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Erickson and Signe Erickson (Bjerke); her husband Melvin; and her siblings, Lillian Fay, Charles Erickson, Irene Bickler and Darlene Daly.
She is survived by: her children, Sarah Elder (Benjamin) of Valley City, ND, Thomas Atkinson of Oklee, MN, Sandra Krause (Bob) of Parker, CO and Tim Atkinson (Kanokkorn) of Blanchard, ND.; her grandchildren, Shane Tragesser, Dustin Tragesser, Kristy Larson (Travis), Kaitlyn Atkinson (Eric Marvel), Nicole Heydt (Jonathan) and Matthew Krause (Abigail); her great grandchildren, Kyson, Thielyn, Katherine and Zoe; and her brother Loren Erickson (Marie) of Moorhead, MN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
