She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Melling and Bertha Melling; her husband Jim; and her daughter-in-law Bonnie Ecker (Anderson). She is survived by: her son Denny; her grandchildren, Jim and Irlene; her children, Bill, William Ecker (Deb), Dennis Ecker (Carla) of Hettinger and Kellie Kolb (Scott) of Aberdeen, SD; her grandchildren, Gina Melgaard (Jeff) of Grand Forks, ND, Scott Ecker of Rapid City, SD and Hailey Mellmer (Dalton) of Reeder, ND; her great grandchildren, Dylan, Evan, Grayson Melgaard and Baby Mellmer; and her sisters-in-law, Emma Melling and Ione Melling.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Centennial Chapel of Evanson Jensen Funeral Homes (700 2nd Ave S, Hettinger, ND 58639). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church (405 3rd St N, Hettinger, ND 58639).
