He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Schauer; his parents, Gideon Schauer and Ruth Schauer; and his sisters-in-law, Jackie Schauer and Judy Krupich.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Schauer (Ronda), Kimberly Rossow (Dustin) and Jonathan Schauer (Jennifer). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and four siblings.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Hettinger Lutheran Church (904 2nd Ave S, Hettinger, ND 58639).
