It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Schlichtmann in Hillsboro, North Dakota, who passed away on May 6, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Schlichtmann and Ina Schlichtmann (Tonn); his wife Dianne Rosen; his brother Walter; and his grandson Elijah Gabriel Blumer.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Darren Mayers (Beth), Janeen Slegh (Chad), Craig Mayers (Sarah) and Douglas Blumer (Tessa); his stepgrandchildren, Isaac, Carter, Anna, Payden, Ryker, Lola, Bria, Ian, Abby, Hannah, Nora, Dylan and Kate; his great grandchildren, Paisley and Beah; his sister Mary Jo Dodd (Jim); his cousins, Randy Rust (Judy, family: Jake, John, Maggie) and David Schlichtmann; and his close friends, Neil, Cindy Pulskamp and Mark. He is also survived by cousins, relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. John Lutheran Church (204 2nd St NW, Hillsboro, ND 58045). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 11:00 AM at the same location.
He was also on the Blanchard Township Board Officer, served on the Traill Rural Water Users Board for 12 years, served on the Hillsboro Medical Center Foundation Board for six years, and also the Hillsboro Community Hospital Board for eight years.
